Crystal is very shy around people at first. Crystal is beautiful, blue eyed, pure white little girl. She is very playful and secure with herself. She is independent and although gets along well with other kitties in her foster home, she would be fine being an "only" kitty "princess".

Fluffy is a golden orange and white, long-haired, friendly boy. He is quite possibly a Maine Coon.

He is friendly, fearless and loves attention. He was rescued by a good-hearted woman who got overwhelmed with too many rescues and was in jeopardy of losing her section 8 housing!

Fluffy likes riding in the car and being stroked and loved. He gets accustomed to other cats fairly quickly and seems to get along OK with them.

He is people-oriented and has been around adults and teenagers most of his rescued life. He has been raised indoor-only by his rescuer and seems to be content to share his life with people and stay inside..

My name is Elwood of Jake and Elwood fame. Sadly, we lost my brother Jake to a fatal virus so I am left to carry on. Zephyr is a spayed, dilute calico cat.

This "Street Madonna" was rescued from deplorable conditions. She was very pregnant and ill.

F.F.F. decided, rather than risk her life to end the pregnancy, to let her have her kittens. We are so glad we did! She is ordinarily a petite, little girl, but nursing and eating the kitten food, has temporarily given her a stomach bulge.

However, once she finally separates from her four rambunctious kittens, she should return to her svelte self. Her martini-olive, green eyes are quite striking! Come see for yourself.

She is learning to get along with strange kittens at the adoption site as she has only played with her siblings up until now.

I suspect she will be very particular about choosing her special person upon whom she should bestow her favors, loyalty and affection.

Garfield is a loving, active and playful young cat. He is a true survivor.

He was brought to our vet's office by caring but irresponsible owners after he was poisoned and near death from over -the-counter "bargain" flea control products! Since they had no money, their only alternative was euthanization.

When F.F.F. was notified, we immediately took Garfield into our program and authorized our vets to begin emergency procedures to save his life. While it was a worst case scenario, our F.F.F. vets pulled him through!

After several months of recovery and periodic checks of his liver and other functions, he seems to have finally made a full recovery.

He is a friendly and easy going boy and was raised with children.

He is an indoor-only kitty and would love to be a buddy in loving a home or family.

Hi, I am a 12 yr old, neutered Himalayan who goes by the name of Blues. Unfortunately, I was dropped off at Contra Costa animal services along with my sister “Jazz”. I really am “singing the blues” right now as my sister Jazz was adopted and I still desperately need a loving, forever home. Despite my “matts” I am extremely handsome, docile and sweet. I meow sweet nothings to you and like to be petted. My motor starts going when I feel secure, comfortable and getting some attention. I am probably ok with other cats, but as always I will need a gradual introduction. I definitely must be an indoor cat.

Being an older gentleman, I do have some moderate tartar on my teeth, but nothing too serious. I also have a “pepper fleck” on my right eye that does not bother me. The vet was not sure if that was an iris melanoma or not. I can see just fine and it appears to be very minor.

Maurice is the boldest of the terrific tuxy trio: Maurice, Marcelle and Mischa.

He has the nonchalant air of a cat in charge. He has become more dominant than his brother and sister, but is still a loving companion to them. He loves attention and affection, and will go so far as to plant himself in your way so you have to stop and pet him.

Licorice is a spayed, black domestic long hair cat.

She appeared as if by magic in a neighbors yard, hungry, frightened, yet friendly. She is used to being on her own so is reticent at first until she feels comfortable.

She adjusted well to affection and responds affectionately to gentle handling. Although independent, and at first defensive with strange cats, she adjusted well to a multiple cat household.

In a familiar surrounding with trusted people, he is a lover ... loves to be right in the thick of what you are doing and "sidewalk supervising".

Blanca is an E. S. P. kitty — Extra Special Pet as she has F.I.V. positive with no symptoms what so ever. Simon Little is a beautiful, shy but loving kitten approx. 4 months old. He has come a long way from being a scared, feral kitten trapped in the Petunia's Project. He has responded well to being around people in a home. His sister, Chatter, and he are good buddies, so would like to try to get them adopted together. However, Simon is becoming more adventurous, so could probably make the transition to another household with a friendly cat. He is learning to like to “supervise" on the computer and loves the attention.

Simon has been treated for an eye virus and respiratory that affected his one eye and is fully recovered and released for adoption. Vince is the “big brother" to all the siblings. He is the “tall, dark and silent type". It took him a while to warm up to people...watching from the sidelines until he “sizes up" the person. Shy Girl, as per her name, is a beautiful, shy, long haired girl. She also is recovered from the upper respiratory and eye infection/virus due to the anti viral medication. She looks to her brother Vince for assurance and retreats to him when scared. She is getting more comfortable with being approached and allows stroking...especially if you are bearing “gifts" of wet food! Gus, aka Conrad is a spunky, funny, little kitte that loves to emulate whoever he is around. He is a friendly and comical little guy. He is still very independent but likes to be stroked and praised. He gets along well with any age cat...liking to wrestle with whoever will play with him. He is curious and active.

It was almost three months after Easter when I was surrendered to the animal shelter as a stray. It was very strange because the family seemed so happy with me at first. I thought I had found my forever home. But I got less and less attention as time passed.

I was really feeling sad and very lonely. Honestly, I didn't think life could get much worse than that little cage. And then it happened that I was taken from my cage and set free in a large outside area. That was very scary for me as I had no protection and I didn't know what to do. Things were kind of blurry after that as I did my best to survive by being vigilant and by running for safety often as I felt threatened by many other beings, strange noises and scents.

Really, there was no place that was safe for me, and eventually I met up with another animal that did attack me. I feel a little self-conscious about my torn (my foster mom calls it ruffled) ear. I have a severed tear duct and a little tenderness in my back. I guess you could say that my worst fears were realized.

Someone coaxed me with food; I was so hungry, and they took me to the animal shelter. But being less than perfect, no one wanted me. Not being wanted is really sad especially since I really do have such a nice personality.

I am here to personally get the word out: DO NOT BUY OR ADOPT A BUNNY FOR EASTER. Please become a MAKE MINE CHOCOLATE person.
